Getting started
How a family, a school or a tutor begins with ZoeziZone, and what happens to a child's data along the way. Last updated 18 August 2026.

Who needs an account, and who never does
- Learners never register. A child has a profile on the phone, protected by a 4-digit child PIN, and never enters an email address.
- Parents and guardians create the only self-service account. It is an email address and a password of at least ten characters.
- Teachers, school admins and tutors do not sign up on their own. They arrive by an email invitation from a school or a parent, so nobody can claim a role over a child that no adult gave them.
For a family: the first ten minutes
- Install the app from the download page. It is a direct Android download; you do not need the Play Store.
- Create your grown-up account when the app opens: your name, your email, a password, and whether you are a parent or a guardian. You can also do this on this site at Create account.
- Open the verification link we email you, then sign in. Sign-in refuses until the email is verified.
- Set a grown-up PIN for the phone. Four digits. It keeps children out of account, payment and sharing settings on that phone.
- Set up the child. Name, grade, a child PIN of their own, and the consent box: you confirm you are the child's parent or guardian and allow ZoeziZone to store their practice progress. The child's profile is created only when that box is ticked. If you would rather not, nothing is created and nothing leaves the phone.
- Hand over the phone. The child picks their grade, and practice, lessons and exams all work with no internet connection. Progress syncs on its own whenever the phone is online.
Two children on one phone? Add the second from the home screen's learner switcher; each keeps their own PIN, grade and progress.
What you can see as a parent
- In the app: Parent corner, behind your grown-up PIN, shows each child's practice, exams and readiness. No marks are predicted; a child who has not started a topic is shown as not started, never as weak.
- On this site: sign in to see your children, who else can access them, their school and tutors, and the answer-speed summary.
- Parent portal: the phone-and-PIN portal handles M-Pesa payments for Premium.
Linking a child to a school
- A school applies at School application with its official email. We verify it and send the first school-admin invitation, valid for seven days.
- The school admin invites teachers by email, one at a time, or many at once from an Excel or CSV file of names, classes and subjects. A teacher belongs to one school and may cover several classes.
- Linking a child is two-sided: the school can invite, but only the child's main guardian approves, and chooses what the school may see: ongoing progress, past-term history, or neither. One school is active at a time.
- Teachers set homework by ticking sub-strands; the child does it offline; completion appears on the teacher's page only for children whose guardian allowed progress sharing. A child without that permission shows as not reported, never as zero.
Tutors
A parent invites a private tutor by email and sets the scope: every subject, chosen subjects, or particular parts of the curriculum. A school may recommend a tutor, but the grant is always the main guardian's, and it can be revoked at any time from the child's page.
Roles at sign-in
Sign-in asks who you are first, then for your password. The same email can hold more than one role, for example a parent who also teaches; you choose the role for that visit.
- Parent or Guardian: your household.
- Teacher, Class teacher, Senior teacher: your school's classes, homework and question review.
- School admin: staff, invitations and links for your school.
- System admin: platform operators only.
Your child's data
- Practice stays on the phone until a guardian consents; consent is recorded at the moment the child is created, and again in the app if you grant it later.
- What syncs is practice: which questions were answered, correctly or not, how long they took. Never photos, contacts or the phone's other data.
- The main guardian can erase everything we hold about a child from the child's page on this site. It is immediate and complete.
- Read the Privacy notice and the Terms. From Grade 8 the Senior School pathways guide is worth a family read.
Stuck?
Write to cybervant.ke@gmail.com with the email you registered and a short description. Forgotten a child's PIN? The main guardian resets it from the child's page; we never disclose the old one.
